Features

Which features work depends on your hub. Apple Home, Home Assistant and others each expose different ones.

About

A 4.9 W candle-shaped colour bulb on an E14 cap with dimming, dynamic scenes and a 40 W incandescent equivalent. It joins a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with the WiZ app and needs no hub. Home Assistant's built-in WiZ integration controls it locally once the app's local communication setting allows it.

Before you buy

Owners report WiZ bulbs dropping offline in Home Assistant, in one case after the WiZ app and servers stopped responding, while others say the bulbs run better with no internet access once paired. A newer fault is local control returning a -32602 error after a firmware update until Allow local communication is set to Allow all controls in the WiZ app.

Pairing

  • Screw the bulb in, switch it on and add it in the WiZ app with your phone on the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. To start again, remove the light in the app and set it up again.
  • Then in Home Assistant
  • Go to Settings → Devices & services and choose Add integration.
  • Search for HomeKit Controller and enter the code from the device or its app.
  • Assign the device to an area.

About 2 minutes. Put the device into pairing mode first, then add it to your hub.

FAQ

Does the WiZ colour E14 bulb work with Home Assistant?

Yes, through the built-in WiZ integration, which finds bulbs on the local network. Provision the bulb in the WiZ app first, and set Allow local communication to Allow all controls if commands fail.

Does it need a hub or the internet?

No hub: the listing says it works with your Wi-Fi router. Owners say Home Assistant keeps control locally after one pairing in the WiZ app, and some find the bulbs steadier with internet access blocked.

Does it support Matter or Apple Home?

Retail listings disagree. WiZ sells some Matter-certified candle bulbs, but the Amazon listing for this product does not mention Matter, so treat it as Wi-Fi unless the box says Matter.

Why will it not connect?

WiZ says the phone must be on the 2.4 GHz network, the bulb must be in Wi-Fi range, and that a router sharing one name for both bands may need separate names.
